In regards to the poem about I would
like to expand on how dogs can be more then just a pet. Waking up each morning
is a blissful blessing gift I feel we all over look. We are not promised
tomorrow and I know I from time to time take it for granted. However, when I wake
up and my dog climbs up the bed to great me is a feeling that never gets old.
Its sheer happiness for him because now that I’m awake I can now love on him. His
happiness is simple. He doesn’t let the fact that I chose to sleep all night
and not pet him. He doesn’t get mad that I didn’t bring him to all of my
classes. He is just Happy for every moment he gets with me. Because of this
simplicity to his life I think he feels genuine happiness. His happiness tends
to be contagious. From time to time he does something I do not like. Such as
getting in the trash. At the time I get mad but it isn’t long until I forget
about it or just give in and pamper him. When I look back on my life with Lou I
can’t remember many of the bad times however I can remember all the happiness
he has brought me. Is this why we hear people say they relate to dogs more then
people? Is it because they radiate with happiness or is it more that we over
look their mistakes and do not hold them against them?
It's the innocence and unconditional loyalty/love, isn't it? How can we stay mad at such uncomplicated creatures, who forgive us all OUR sins without hesitation? They ask so little and give so much. People who abuse them are, in my limited and unforgiving merely-human judgment, unforgivable.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the unconditional love a dog gives is everything. They love you no matter what and it makes the experience worth it. I can't wait to get one.
